What Causes Painful Welts On The Arm After Being Bitten By A Mosquito?

I was bitten by a mosquito last night and have a slight allergy to them. Usually it manifests as a large welt and fever. This time however I have a smaller welt and really bad aching from above my elbow (where the bite is) down to my pinky, which has just started tingling like I hit my ulnar nerve or something. I've taken ibuprofen to help with the pain but it doesn't seem to be effective. I currently do not have Benadryl (which I usually take) on hand. Any suggestions?

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems that you have a severe allergic reaction leading to large welt and fever and it is leading to severe radiating pain to the entire forearm..
It also appears that you have infection at the site of insect bite and you need to get evaluated by a Physician or Emergency room..

You need to take a course of antibiotics, anti inflammatory pain reliever like Ibuprofen and Acetaminophen to reduce pain..
Take anti allergics like Levocetrizine..
Do cool compresses over the lump to reduce inflammation and apply steroid ointment like Triamcinolone Acetonide..
