What Causes Painful Wrist?

I have a pain in my right wrist where my ulna attaches to my hand. It only hurts when I make a sudden movement with my hand, one time grabbing a stapler off my desk today, another time turning something over, and another time lifting a small object. It also was agrivated when driving home from work today. today is the first time I felt this pain.

Hi
Thank you for asking HCM.
I have gone through your query. Your problem can be due to tendonitis or de quervain tenosynovitis. Avoid excess activity which causes pain. Using over the counter analgesics like ibuprofen ( motrin ) and local anti inflammatory gels containing ketoprofen, capsaicin and methyl salicylate will be helpful. If no improvement approach an orthopedician for local injection of corticosteroids like triamcinolone.
Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear.
Thanks.
