What Causes Painfully Swollen Arm And Foot Post A Spontaneous Dissection Procedure?

Hi I recently (7 weeks) had a spontaneous dissection. The last couple of days my right arm is kind of sore and my right ankle is a little swollen and the top of my foot is sore making walking painful. Should I be concerned? I am 61 and in otherwise good health. My blood pressure is normal.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

* The painfully swollen arm and foot post dissection procedure may indicate underlying ischemia of the respected regions of the body due to underlying atherosclerosis issue.

Need to address the same to an ER for immediate evaluation and get doppler of the limb to assess the circulation pattern whether anything hampered or not?

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
