my husband has gout. His toe is very swollen with a fluid filled blister. When bursted a large number of little white things looking like white eggs of some type, Very painful toe. Dr., dx. it as Gout. prescribed bactrim orally for tx. the con d to be very sore with drainage. Finally he got a culture that read a staph. infection, and dc d oral bactrim and ordered a different antibiotic for him that seems to be working. Was his dx. correct as being gout or does this sound more like an insect bite? If so what type would bite and leave little white eggs? Thank you I didn t realize there is a fee.
