What Causes Paleness At The Base Of My Penis?

hi sir, a few months ago i got a tiny spot on the underside of my head, it was white...it was slightly sore but nothing major, lasted about a day or two then was fine and no more discomfort, n the surrounding area on the bottom of my penis has become a pale greeny , not incredibly bad but noticeable , and some days slightly worse than others.

Hello,

You are suffering from paleness (pale green discoloration) at the base of the penis. Such symptom may be indicative of a bruise that can form on the penis from a zipper accident, vigorous intercourse or masturbation, or if pinched or struck. However, it can be due to certain medical conditions like syphilis or other STD like genital warts, penile cancer, penile melanosis or contact dermatitis, etc.

Penile discoloration always needs a medical evaluation. You are suggested to get it clinically examined by a Urologist, get required tests & investigations done. It may be something temporary and relatively benign, but if detected to be a serious health condition, you will be treated accordingly.

Stay away from addictions if any. Avoid multiple partners and always perform safe sex. If the change in color is due to an underlying cause that’s medically serious, getting a diagnosis and starting treatment earlier is always a smart approach.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
