What Causes Palpitations After Consuming Coffee?
hi,im a 20 year old.i had a cup of coffee this morning.the regular mild one.and now i'm experiencing palpitations(obviously) and difficulties in breathing since this morning until now (its 9.30 pm)..its not severe though.i just have to take a very deep breath or breathe rapidly.this is the first time.i've been drinking coffee more than i tend to these past 2 weeks since its exam week.but no more than a cup a day.is there a problem with me? or is it normal?i dont usually have this kind of effect when i drink coffee.i dont drink or smoke.im asthmatic(mild).i dont have any allergies.

In your case 2 factors are there which can cause palpitations, First and I think the more obvious one is the study load and exam stress that you are going through as Stress/Anxiety are two important factors that trigger palpitations. Second contributing factor is the more than usual coffee intake, as it contains caffeine which is a CNS stimulant that can increase heart rate.
Don't worry there is nothing wrong with you and you just need to take it easy, exams come and go. You will do great.
