What Causes Palpitations After Taking Sectral?

Hi I have taken Sectral 400mg once daily for over 20 years, I recently started having palpitations in the evening, My doctor told me to take it 2 times a day but watch my Pulse rate, I have taken it for 2 days now, and, my B/P is 124/60 and HR 64. My question is, is this too much and should I reduce to 200 mg of the evenings instead. Thanks!

Your blood pressure and heart rate are very well controlled now.
So I would advise you to co to use your medication twice daily
