Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My heart sometimes races. Occurs when I lift and go up stairs or on treadmill. Example: Heart rate was 126, BP 119/76. Heart felt like it was working hard. Took deep breaths and an aspirin. Sat on chair to rest and HR currently is 287 BB 132/85. No meds currently being taken. 5 2 155 lbs. This has happened 3x within past 6 weeks.
If you were my patient, I would recommend an ECG. It helps to detect the type of arrhythmia, also to see if you need a cardiac sonography or a 24 hours ECG Holter monitoring.
I do not know your age or your medical history. Since it is a new problem (6 months history), I need to see if it is atrial fibrillation and the need for anti-coagulation therapy.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Anila Skenderi
