What Causes Palpitations And Acid Reflux While On Zantac And Prilosec?

Yes, I was taking Zantac 150 and Prilosec together because I was having severe heartburn. My heart starting beating VERY fast and skipping around. When it didn t stop after 10 minutes I called 911 and the EMT s could feel how thread my pulse was and took my blood pressure, it was 220/70. They took me to hospital and did a EKG in route, all my blood tests and EKG, heart x-ray showed no damage and no reason for this sudden occurrence. I see that rapid heart rate is a side effect for both Prilosec and Zantac. I have quit taking them as well as Doxylamine succinate which I took for a sleep aid. It lists the same possible side effect. My question is, do you feel the combination of these three over the counter products could have caused my extreme rapid heart rate?? Have you ever heard of this?

Hi,

you didnt mentioned how many days you are taking all these medication.

if long time you are taking these medicine then sudden reaction to palpitation very unusual, it may be for other reason.

But any medication can cause reaction /side effect to an individual , but mostly it happen in first dose.

Dont worry , your all investigation is normal.
But be carefull.
and take an specialist openion from cardiologist.
