What Causes Palpitations And Dizziness?

I am a 49 year old female with a family history of heart disease. I am currently having rapid heartbeat to heart palpitations, I think. I am feeling somewhat dizzy and lightheaded. How can I tell if this is a serious issue, like heart attack or something less serious like anxiety?

if u have palpitations and dizziness.. than go to doctor to rule out any heart related problem.. don't wait for condition to become severe.. palpitations, dizziness along with severe pain radiating on left side from heart towards neck and shoulders.. it may indicate heat attack..
