What Causes Palpitations And Numbness In The Ears?

Hello my wife has been having a rapid heart beat or racing heart beat which will take her breath and then like a rush up to her head like a numbness in of her ears but she says hard to explain but it s a rush which scares her but it s not something that happens all the time. could be days or even weeks and never have one. We recently had a doctors appointment they did a ekg and then we had a Eco gram haven t heard results but have called Doctor they said if there was something wrong they would have called us. Do you have any ideas what it maybe

Hello,

The fast heart beats may elicit low blood supply to upper part of body resulting into numbness in ears. But as the cardiac investigations without any adverse finding, we should think in other lines.

Same numbness in ear any time of the day could be due to cervical spondylosis problem where the nerve supplying ear is pressed at a peculiar position of neck which may not be noted.

You need x-ray/MRI of cervical spine to confirm the diagnosis followed by specific management like physiotherapy/medicines /surgery in some cases. Please consult an orthopedic surgeon.
