What Causes Palpitations While On Amlodipine And Lisinopril?

my mom has been on Amlodipine 5 mg for several weeks along with carvdedilol 25 mg twice a day and Lisinopril 40 mg she has taken only 1 extra 5mg dose of Amlodipine and now takes 10 mg a day in split dose she is complaining of palpitations do i need to call her MD

hi mam/sir your observation is good.amlodipine is the drug that causes palpitations as adverse effect.its better to report this to your MD as he can adjust the dose and can slowly increase it.more over,carvedilol and amlodipine wont go well i.e;interactions may occur.you can go for other beta blockers like metoprolol which helps in reducing palpitations and also has very less interactions with amlodipine.you can discuss the same with your doctor.hope i'm clear.any further clarifications from my side,please let me know.i'll be happy to help you.thank you.take care.bye.
