Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I ve had a CRT pacemaker installed one week ago. Tonight when lying down in bed, I felt strong heart pumps (about 5 bursts in a row, stop one second, then repeats). I do not feel it when I sit up. Tried laying back on a recliner chair, and got the same strong bursts. Sat up, OK. Hadn t felt these bursts the first 3-4 nights.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here are my thoughts.
Since you have a heart pacemaker installed a week ago such palpitations should not have occurred. If these are occurring there has to be reasons like as follows: Anxiety and stress. Cardiac muscle problems. Psychological factors. Mal-function of pacemaker and so on. This can be diagnosed by the following: Consult your Cardiologist or go to ER for complete cardiac evaluation as soon as possible. This is an urgent thing to do.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
