Dear Sir, palpitations are the perception of one own heart beat. It usually happens more frequently when the heart's rhythm is not normal. In order to verify whether your heart rhythm is fine, an ECG may not suffice as it is a very momentarily capture of our heart electrical rhythm. I would recommend getting a Holter of your heart rhythm- its a device placed like an ECG but for longer time period (typically 24hrs). This way, if you do have a rhythm problem we can diagnose it.
