What Causes Palpitations?

Dear Doctor: I have been having palpitations. I have done ECG, an Echo-cardiogram and application of a Holter Monitor. The doctor told me I have Premature Ventricular Complexes. I continue to have these palpitations but in milder forms though I was placed on medications aspirin and Talliton.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Dear xxxx,
Thank You for choosing Health Care Magic.

I read carefully your question and I do understand your concern.

Usually these kind of palpitations are commen in people over 50. Also, they may be frequent if the persons uses alchool, caffeine, some stimulants or asthma medications. Frequent stressful situations may give birth to palpitations.

Since you already have the diagnose of premature ventricular complexes and the doctor has already prescribed you medications, I do suggest that you go on with your aspirin and tallidon and try as much as possible to keep your inner peace, and keep a healthy lifestyle with no smoking or alchool.

If you have more questions, please feel free to send them to me.

Regards,
Dr. Eni Manoku
