Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
After going through your medical query I understand your concern for your health and I would like to tell you that most common cause of palpitations is Anxiety disorder. Pricking needle kind of pains which lasts for seconds are generally not cardiac and requires no treatment but self meditation to calm yourself. To exclude any Cardiac rhythmic disorder kindly get an ECG done. You can consult a psychologist if meditation doesn't help.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
