What Causes Panic Attacks And Mania?

My daughter has an abnormal reaction to any bug infection as she calls it. The two I can mention are bed busy and lice. She has ongoing panic attacks and manic behavior - even when proven this doesn t exist. She remains obsessed. I know according to Freud such behavior over wasps is related to unresolved issues with father. Is there any such explanation for her actions?
