General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

It suggests that you may be suffering from the tinnitus due to the hearing loss and most probably this hearing loss may be due to the traumatic perforation of your tympanic membrane.

For this condition, I personally suggest to you that you may consult the ENT specialist as early as possible to reach the near diagnosis and rule out the other disease.

It is absolutely necessary that before any treatment of your tinnitus you may go for the:

1. Examination of the ears by otoscope or microscope to rule out the perforation of the tympanic membrane.

2. Tunning fork test to know the status of the ear.

3. Pure tone audiometry to differentiate sensorineural from the conductive hearing loss and also the degree of hearing loss.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Ivan R. Rommstein, General Surgeon
