What Causes Passing Of Bright Yellow Urine?

I had a colonoscopy on September 10. My urine turned very bright yellow before the colonoscopy, and my doctor said this could have been caused by the bile. She said this was typical. It s been two-and-a-half weeks since the colonoscopy, and my urine is still very bright yellow. Should I be concerned?

Hello and welcome to HCM,
A bright yellow colored urine could be due to presence of bilirubin in urine.
However, the same needs to be confirmed by test for bilirubin in urine.
Presence of bilirubin in urine indicates some liver disorder.
Liver disorder can occur due to inflammation of liver or hepatitis and obstruction in the extra-hepatic biliary trees.
Thus, I suggest you to get an urine test for bilirubin and liver function tests.
In addition, an ultrasound abdomen is also required to assess the status of liver and biliary tree.
You can get the investigations prescribed from your physician.
Further management will depend on the results of investigations.

Thanks and take care
