What Causes Passing Of Mucous And Blood In Stools?

My two year old daughter has been passing mucus and blood in her bowels for the last two days. Her last BM had a lot of mucus in it with enough blood to be concerned. Recently she was treated with antibiotics for an ear infection and was on them for about a week. She is not complaining of stomach cramps but her stools have been somewhat loose. She does not have a fever and is not complaining of any other issues except for a bad rash in her rectal area.

It would be best to take her to see a doctor.

Infectious diarrhea may be due to a viral, bacterial or parasitic cause.
Bloody diarrhea is normally indicate that a bacterial or parasitic infection of the colon.
It would be best to take her for assessment. Her hydration status would also need checking because dehydration can occur in children with diarrhea and/or vomiting.

She needs to replace the fluids that she is losing with pedialyte or a similar liquid.
