What Causes Patches, Bumps And Swelling On The Inside Of The Lips?

yes, i have a lower lip thats swollen on the inside and a white small blister on bottom of my gum just below the tooth. i started to feel tingling on Friday night after eating a lot of popcorn and salt. Saturday morning, i had a small patch of white tiny bumps and swollen inner lower lip. I used warm water and salt in the morning and at night. Now Sunday night the swelling is down considerably and the now theres only one tiny bump that looks like a pimple at the bottom of my gum line. i do have crowns on my lower teeth.

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern.

As per your complain the white bump on the gum line and swollen inner lip with tiny bumps seems to be due to different reasons.

1. The bump on the gum just below a tooth along with having crown on lower teeth can be due to infection in tooth causing dental abscess.
Another reason can be infection in gums leading to formation of a gum abscess..
Nothing to worry, consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and if tooth infection is suspected then an IOPAR [X RAY] is needed for diagnosis.
In case of dental abscess removal of crown followed by root canal treatment of tooth along with oral intake of antibiotics and painkillers will help.
In case of gum infection scaling, curettage and application of gum paint and taking antibiotics will help..

The swollen inner lip and small bumps can be due to injury to the mucosa causing inflammation due to eating of popcorn which are considerably rough in appearance and excessive intake can cause slight inflammation.
Nothing to worry as it will gradually subside..
You can continue doing warm saline gargles and cold compresses over the lip can also help..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
