What Causes Patches Of Goose Bumps On Calf And Thigh?

Hi, I have been having patches of goose bumps on my lower left calf, it started on my upper left thigh and still occasionally happens there, they are in patches about 3-4 ins in diameter and only in those places, they happen randomly for a couple of days then go for a while, I have had them for about 8 yrs

I've gone through your inquiry and understand your concern.

What you are describing as goose bumps on your lover left calf, as a doctor makes me think of two possibilities.

1. Keratosis pilaris ( follicular keratosis)- a cream with urea 2-3% applied locally once a day can do the trick for you.

2. Lichen nitidus. (the fact that the lesion come and go so often lowers this possibility but does not rule it out) - local or systemic steroid treatment may be needed that can be conducted only after seeing a doctor.

A picture with your lesion would be of great help as I could recommend you a certain treatment or advise you to seek further medical help.
