What Causes Peeling Up Of Skin On Body After Treatment Of Scarlet Fever?

Hello, good evening. My 9-year old son recently had scarlet fever, even though he never missed school. He had rough skin on most of his body and his hands and feet were peeling excessively. Those symptoms are gone now, but we have noticed that his nails are pitted on both hands and feet, a condition we have never seen before. Could this be a residual effect of the scarlet fever, or does this point to a form of psoriasis?
