I suffered with SPD after the birth of my last child - I am 6 months postpartum and still experiencing considerable pelvic discomfort, popping, soreness, etc. Shouldn t this have resolved itself by now? I am also having some discomfort during intercourse (as of recently), could there be something else going on?
You have history of SPD after childbirth. Presently, you are 6 months postpartum and have pelvic discomfort. You are experiencing soreness and also discomfort during sexual intercourse. You are suggested to take rest and give yourself time to recover. Avoid sexual intercourse for a couple of days till you get back to normal. You should not sit or stand at a particular place for a long period of time. Change positions. Stay active but do not over strain yourself.
Wearing supportive shoes or pelvic support belt can be helpful. Avoid bending or twisting movements, avoid squatting and sitting cross legged. Consider alternate sex positions after you are fit. Get connected to a physical therapist, you need to do pelvic floor exercises, stretch exercises, inner thigh stretches and stability exercises. Take care of your hygiene. Take pain relief medications orally, SOS when required. You can also apply pain relieving ointments and sprays. Gentle massage is helpful.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
