What Causes Periodic Hot Flashes?

I am a 55 year old male in pretty good physical condition and recently just had a complete physical and received a clean bill of health. Recently I have been having periodic hot flashes that last about two minutes. Usually 1 a day sometimes 2 sometimes not every day.

Hello ,
This is Dr.S.Tomar from healthcaremagic.com and I will be your healthcare advisor for this question. First of all Thank you for sharing your concern with us and showing trust on us.
Decreased levels of testosterone are main cause of such hot flashes in majority of male cases. It can also be a side effect of some treatment like androgen deprivation therapy for prostate cancer . Hot flashes in man are easily treatable . Venlafaxine , androcur , estradiol , gabapentin are recommended medicines for such issues and should be taken after consulting with your health care providers.
I can assure you that such hot flashes can easily be treated and rarely shows any serious issue . Consult your health care providers further for further evaluation and treatment.

I wish you good health.
Best Regards,
Dr.S.Tomar
