What Causes Periods Delayed?

I got my period one week late last month. It usually comes by the 3oth (April) but it didn't come until May 5th and lasted the normal seven days until May 12th. Now during the week that I normally get my period, I started spotting for almost a week now. I am not sure what it could be. I am usually very normal and have no spotted for atleast 10 years. I am 27 years old. I am still waiting for my normal period to come which would have been yesterday, or maybe it will come the 5th, but the spotting concerns me. I did get cramps a few times yesterday. No other abnormal symptoms. The spotting is very very light. I had sex two times this week with my partner and we stopped because I was bleeding more during sex.
