What Causes Periods To Not Come For 11 Months?

HI, im 18 and got my period at 13 but for the past years ive had problems with it. this year i haven't gotten for the past 11 months now. ive been on birthcontrol, worked at the start but nothing. I want to know what could causes this to happen.? what migh not be work in my body.?
