What Causes Peripheral Neuropathy With Proprioception And Loss Of Sensation?

I have axon injury outside the CNS. Injury is most likely due to B-cell lymphoma (now in remission) or results of chemo (high dose methotrexate, Temodar, et.al.). Symptoms are peripheral neuropathy loss of sensation and proprioception. I am not yet seeking pain relief. I would like to know what can be done to restore sensation and proprioception.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Complete recovery is difficult. Drugs like VitaminB12 can provide symptomatic relief.

If a particular segment of the nerve is affected, grafting or repair can be attempted. Consult a neurologist and he will direct you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
