What Causes Persistant Headache Followed By Black Out?
My husband has had a head ache for 3 days now and this morning he blacked out in the bathroom. Said he could hear me talking to him and calling our daughter but couldn t open his eyes or talk blood pressure was 148 / 84 which was good for him, won t go to the dr what could be wrong very concerned
Well he has to go to a doctor. Loss of consciousness or collapsing is no simple matter. I presume he is a hypertensive as you mentioned a reading of 148/84 mmHg to be normal for him.
This means his blood pressure is not being controlled well enough and if he is not on any medications he needs to be initiated with a course of anti-hypertensive medications. And if he is on medications, then they are clearly not doing their job and a revision in his treatment regimen is mandatory.
If not his blood pressure we need to look into factors like his lipid profile, blood coagulation profile, blood glucose profile, MRI head and neck, etc. He may not understand the seriousness of his presentation, but I am telling you quite clearly that he needs a doctor, and he needs one now.
Best wishes.
