What Causes Persistent Abdominal Pain And Hepatomegaly?
Hi. I recently was having upper abdominal pain on the right side. I saw my doctor and she ordered an ultrasound thinking that it was my gall bladder. She reviewed the test as did the radiologist and it showed that my gall bladder was fine, however my liver was slightly enlarged and had a benign appearing cyst in it. I also had blood work done and everything came back good. My doctor didn t seem at all concerned and told me that nothing needed to be done but we would keep an eye on it and see if I had any further problems. I am still having some pain and am uncomfortable about a week later. I scheduled an appointment to see a gastroenterologist next month. I was curious of your thoughts. Maybe it will help me to feel more at ease. Thank you
Hi According to your exlanation you have mild hepatomegaly with small cyst in it but it is benign. So that is not a major concern. But it is right that you have an eye over problems arising out of it. If cyst get infected then you may have abdominal pain and vomiting. If size of cyst increses then problems become severe. If the case get complicated then sypmtomatic treatment along with surgical interventions are necessory. Thank you.
