What Causes Persistent Abdominal Pain In A Toddler?
I have a four year old granddaughter who has complained bout her stomach hurting since she was able to talk. We have taken her to the Dr and they have checked everything in her stomach, but nobogy has ever done an MRI. Today she was playing on the see saw and ever time it hit the ground she would complain her stomach hurt, what could this be?
Understanding your concern. As per your query your grand daughter have symptoms of persistent abdominal pain. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like constipation , infection of the urinary tract, crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis , irritable bowel syndrome or due to improper digestion of food. Need not to worry. For now eat light and no spicy , drink plenty of water , take some probiotic food like yogurt or add more fruits and vegetables to your diet. I would suggest you to consult gastroenterologist for proper examination. Doctor may order ultrasound , CT scan , stool test and endoscopy. Doctor may prescribe omeprazole , ornidazole , laxative along with analgesic.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
