What Causes Persistent Abdominal Pain With Strong Urine Odour?

Have had pain for several months in kidney area in back. Sometimes urine strong odor. Pain seems worse when laying down at night. Skin seems very dry. When I have an itch and scratch, scabs up. Also, seem to bruise easily, even when I do not know of bumping myself. I do take BP medication.

Hello,

The back pain being affected by lying down is very likely due to the musculoskeletal system. On the other hand, because you have this strong urine odor it is best to have a urinalysis and a urine culture to rule out urinary infection.

As for the dry skin, I would recommend you to do TSH and FT4 blood tests to make sure your thyroid is normal and CBC to rule out anemia. If all these are normal then you may need to use petroleum ointment daily to keep your skin hydrated and also avoid very frequent and hot showers or baths.

I hope this answers your query.
I remain at your disposal for further medical assistance.
