What Causes Persistent Asthma Despite Taking Antibiotics?
I have come back from mexico with sis and now have had like asthma attack...while sleeping and can t catch breath...I have done two types of antibiotics and breo eliptia.nothing helping is it lung stuff or mould? I have been healthy prior this is 1 month..its scary..should I take prednisone?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have persistent asthma despite taking antibiotics. Well asthma is a condition in which your airways narrow and swell and produce extra mucus. This can make breathing difficult and trigger coughing, wheezing and shortness of breath. There can be many reasons like airborne allergens, such as pollen, animal dander, mold , respiratory infections, such as the common cold , air pollutants and irritants. I would suggest you to consult allergy specialist for proper examination and find out the exact cause . Doctor may order allergy test an prescribe inhaled corticosteroids like fluticasone , montelukast , salmeterol or theophylline . For now stay away from dust and keep drinking warm water with honey .
Hope your concern has been resolved.

Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
