What Causes Persistent Athlete S Foot With Black Discoloration Despite Using OTC Creams?

Yes. I have what I thought was athletics feet between my little toe and the next one. Today I noticed it is black and icy. This has been going on for a year and I have been using over the counter creams and powders with no results. I wear cotton socks that are laundered with Clorox to no avail. I have also used Clorox on the infected area with no results. I change socks every day.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

It could be due to humidity in the area. Avoid wearing socks and shoes. Open sandals would be better. Drink cleaner water.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Vaishalee Punj, General & Family Physician
