Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello Doc! Good Morning Actually my problem is with the strange smell of urine. It smells sometime like rotten egg or like stale spoiled meat and sometimes like Sulphur or surf. This happened for the first time three years back and still persists time to time. I don t feel any kind of bladder pain or pain while urinating. I am healthy man of 36 years. I don t understand where to consult and how to treat this? Please help me to get rid of this disease. High Regards to you.
I understand your concern. Change in the smell of urine could have occurred due to alteration in food habits due to excretion of excess of certain organic constituents. Kindly get the following investigations done.
1. Urine microscopic examination.
2. Urine specific gravity, pH and total solids.
3. Ultrasound scan of the abdomen. Kindly consult an urologist with reports for clinical evaluation and appropriate management.
Hope the information provided would be helpful. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Ashakiran S
