General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello, I really appreciate your concern. Chronic cough with blood in sputum and swelling in the neck could be due to tuberculosis infection. If a person comes to my clinic with similar symptoms I would ask him about symptoms like low grade fever, night sweating, loss of appetite, loss of weight, feeling of tiredness etc, any past history or family history of TB. I would suggest him complete blood count with ESR, sputum microscopy for TB bacilli and drainage and culture of fluid from the neck swelling. Further treatment depends on the results of the investigations.
Hope my answer has solved your query. Take Care.
Thank you.
