What Causes Persistent Burning Feeling Above The Ear On Right Side?

Hi my name is Cheryl. I have been feeling a burning feeling on the right side of my head above the ear. I went to see a Dr and he told me it's not a earache and checked other symptoms. I have been like this for a week now and it's getting worse I just don't have anymore options. Please help

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of persistent burning feeling above the ear on right side which is due to earwax accumulation, fluid accumulation, ear infection which sometimes remain persistent and leads to recurrent otitis media and ear pain. You should take green tea daily in the morning, You should do warm saline gargles , take steam twice a day and apply warm dry compresses to external ear. I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper diagnosis. Doctor may examine by otoscopic means to check level of infection. Doctor may order throat swab test , viral culture test and allergy test to confirm the diagnosis . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics such as Levofloxacin at least for 10 days along with decongestant and anti inflammatory medications.
