What Causes Persistent Change In Bowel Habits While Having IBS?

I ve was constipated for four days than had a watery stool. Then proceeded to be constipated for four more days and finally took a stool softener and a probiotic and digestive. A few hours later I had a large bowel movement. My colon felt irritated and sore. I had a hot water with lemon and some water. I now have diarrhea. I do have IBS which I try to control with probiotics and digestives and diet.

As first-line management, you can take drugs like laxatives for symptomatic relief.
If symptoms persist better to consult a gastroenterologist and get evaluated.
If there is diagnostic confusion, a colonoscopy may be required.
