Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I have been having chest pain, behind the sternum shortly after I eating for several weeks now. Originaly I tought I had overexpanded my lung from doing a 500 mile cycling trip, mostly hills. But after 3 weeks the pain is still there, especialy after eating.
Most likely this is caused by esophagitis. For such cases I used to give Pantoprazole 40 mg once daily and antacids like gelusil 3 times a day for 7 days. Your doctor will guide you. Meanwhile avoid hot drinks and spicy items for 2 weeks.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr. Muhammed Aslam TK
