What Causes Persistent Chesty Cough?

I ve had a chesty cough for over 6 weeks now. I ve been to the doctors 3 times, 1st I was prescribed antibiotics, which didn t work, 2nd I was told I probably have asthma and severe hayfever so was given antihistamines and a relief inhaler, which don t seem to have helped at all. Yesterday I had to go to an emergency doctor due to a sudden development of UTI, which I ve never had before. I just wondered whether this could be linked to the chesty cough? the cough sometimes produces thick yellow phlegm.

as per WHO guidelines you have to get Sputum for AFB done to rule out TB if you have cough not responding for antibiotics
