What Causes Persistent Chronic Cough Despite Taking Methylprednisolone?

I am now having a lot of terrible coughing - I just realized I did not take my Methyprednisolone as directed. I took all the six pills at one time. Nowmy doctor is planninga bronscopy next week because I have a severe and disturing continuous cough - could my taking the medication incorrectly have caused me this problem. I saw the doctor today and did not realize I did not follow the prescription as directed. I took this medication in December 2016. Should I notify my doctor? Lovebarbee@ bellsouth.net

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Even though medicines not taken as per the directions, severe hacking persistent cough should never be discarded as there can be atypical pneumonia or else.

Kindly get a bronchoscopy done and revert back with a report for further discussion.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Purva Patel,
