What Causes Persistent Cold And Cough In A Child Along With Vomiting?
Hello Doctor, My daughter (4.5 years) is suffering from cold and cough (Khasi) from last 6 months and because of that she is also having pain in her ears. I have consulted ear specialist and he asked to give her an antibiotic (Cefpodoxime Proxetil); however after having that she started vomiting and loose motion. Then after doctor s advice I gave her Ofloxacin Ornidazole O2 syrup but still she is not well. Kindly advise what needs to be done. Awaiting your answer. Thanks.

Understanding your concern. As per your query your child have symptoms of persistent cold and cough along with vomiting. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like allergy reaction or viral pharyngitis ,bronchitis and due to disturbed metabolism of body. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to take proper rest and start with antiallergic medications. You should take plenty of fluids to maintain hydration level of body. You should take small and frequent meals and avoid large meals at a time. If condition doesn't get well in a week then consult doctor again for proper examination and rule out other conditions. You should take antiemetic along with proper course of antibiotics. Avoid hot, sharp and spicy food.
