What Causes Persistent Cough Along With Chest Pain And Fever?

I have had persistant cough since last of April. Went to dr, said it was allergies, then middle of MAy coughing up phlem, sneezing, chest hurting, some fever and chills. given Z pak for 5 days and cough medicine and inhaler. Better for two weeks and then cough back dry at first then wet with more cough, sneezing, head plugged, wheezing and general aches, feeling crappy. Chest hurting and left are, lots of coughing . Got keflex, another inhaler and cough medicing. Better, but nchest still huring some and still coughing after 3 days on anibiotic.

Getting adequate rest and fluid intake
to relieve muscle aches and pains and headaches, and to reduce fever -you can use analgesics
Use of cough suppressants for a dry cough
Stopping smoking and avoidance of other airborne irritants.Use of bronchodilator medication
it coluld be bronchitis due to infection
continue antibiotics
if symptoms still persist for 2 days
get an chest x ray and consult your physician
