What Causes Persistent Cough And Wheezing While Treating Bronchitis?
have had bronchitis for more than a week. just about to finish doze of antibiotics.am concerned because although a little better, i still have cough and wheezing which seems to be around my left side under breast. i am in my mid sixties had a radical mastectomy seventeen years and ago and do worry of cancer returning e.g. lungs however i have no fever now and am a little better. antibiotics made me quite ill also. ROSE.
Here according to your clinical senerio you should consult pulmonologoist for your work up like.... -Auscultation -Spirometry to decide treatment plan and to assess severity -Chest x ray -Blood pressure measurement -EKG if needed
According to cause further specific treatment given
For wheezing if needed suitable bronchodilator like ipratropium might prescribed that will be decided according to your above report and clinical correlation...
If needed sputum culture can be done to choose suitable antibiotic and sputum cytology also can be done according to need
Avoid smoking if habit
