What Causes Persistent Drainage From Ears Along With Post Nasal Drip?
Hello, I have had drainage in both ears (clear, nonsticky, mainly in right ear, moreso after awakening) for months now. I do not have headaches and I think I hear just fine. I had a nurse look in my ears and she says my tympanic membrane looks bulgy. A had a physician look for fluid and he said they look fine (not an ENT). I have had two tympanograms done and they came out normal. When I blink hard, I hear a crackle or a movement of liquid in my right ear. I have also had a post nasal drip for a while now, very small amounts. I do not have a cold or anything, but I did have a small cold 6 months ago in which I had a bigger post nasal drip. I do live with a smoker. Can anyone help with this?
Hello, I had gone through your query and understand your concern.
Your symptoms are suggestive of otitis media. It is an infection of the middle ear. Normally middle ear is filled with air. Whenever you get cold or have infected sinuses, middle ear also gets infected.
I suggest you to consult an ENT specialist and gwt your ear examined. You need to be put on antibiotics to treat your condition.
Hope this helps.
Regards, Dr.Prathap Kumar
