What Causes Persistent Dry Cough In Spite Of Taking Antibiotics?

hello I have had a dry cough with some catarrh which is clear for three months I have had a chest xray which was clear when I cough I some times sneeze I have tried antibiotics ,inhalers nasel sprays, cough medicine getting desperate now thankyou wendy mackrell

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern..

As per your complain persistent dry cough with some phlegm can be due to conditions like Allergic reaction to some unknown allergen, Allergic bronchitis etc..

I would suggest you to take a course of anti allergics like Levocetrizine or benadryl along with cough suppressants containing Dextromethorphan and Guaifenesin..
You can also take mucolytics ike Ambroxol..
You should also avoid exposure to excessive dust and pollution..
Do steam inhalations and use a humidifier in your room..
Drink warm water throughout the day..
In case if there is no relief in 15 days consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated..
