What Causes Persistent Dry Throat And Loss Of Voice?

slight sore and dry throat. Speaking weak and difficult. Was treated with antibiotics 15 days ago for upper respiratory infection, now breathing is normal, not coughing up phlegm, but voice nearly gone. This condition has been going on 4 to 5 days now.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

This condition comes post infection, laryngitis. Since you took antibiotics probably you had bacterial laryngitis. It may need some time for mucosa to get recovered. It may need up 2 weeks.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Olgeta Xhufka , General & Family Physician
