What Causes Persistent Dull Abdominal Pain?

I ve been having dull, mild-to-moderate pains in my lower abdomen, around my bladder area and a little higher up close to my stomach area. The pain in my stomach area is very minimal and does not occur often. I notice more pain when I m active, like at work or walking around more, but the pain is not intense; just a dull, uncomfortable feeling. I have had blood when I use the restroom going number 2, but the blood is NOT mixed in the stools. I m worried about this and would like a professional opinion on what this could be before going to the doctor or emergency room. Thank you.

Hi,

Abdominal pain can be caused by many conditions. However, the main causes are an infection, abnormal growths, inflammation, obstruction (blockage), and intestinal disorders. Infections in the throat, intestines, and blood can cause bacteria to enter your digestive tract, resulting in abdominal pain.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Monish De, Oncologist
