Hello and welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

There are several factors that affect the blood pressure like the food, the salt content, the exercise, weight and stress. If these are properly taken care of, the requirement of medicines is likely to be less. As time goes, Many people require more medicines.

Both Losartan and Ramipril work on the Renin angiotensin system to reduce the blood pressure. If it is not sufficient, another medicine with a different action like a calcium channel blocker can be added.

Hope I have answered your query. Do get back to me if you have further queries.

Regards,
Dr. Noble Zachariah
