What Causes Persistent Fatigue And Anxiety After An Oophorectomy?
Please help , I am 5 wks post op oophectomy . I had the surgery for pmdd , cyclical anxiety which lasted 5 days a month , I had for 15 year . Pre op I was on 75 mcg estradiol patches , estrogel and climaval and previously had had implants of estrogen and testosterone until they became available . In the early days I was under proffeser studd . I had injections of cetrotide to shut down my ovaries to see if this worked before surgeon was happy to go ahead . It did work . So went ahead . I am not having flushes or anything but I am so tired all the time and have the same kind of anxiety as before . What can I do please ? I am seeing my Gp on Friday as surgeon no longer needs to see me but I m worried she won t know what to do . Seems strange I m on less hormones after than before .
There is no need to worry. Get your hormonal assay done and if this is because of surgical complications then you might get hormonal replacement. Rather, the other chance is this might be just post surgical anxiety. Consult your psychiatrist as well.
